St. Francis in the Keys will be open for worship once again on December 24.
Like many residents, after Irma the folks from St. Francis were not immediately able to use their building upon returning. So they worshiped with their gracious fellow Christians at Lord of the Seas Lutheran church, alternating liturgies. In the meantime St. Francis' building and grounds became the headquarters of All Hands, the volunteer group that has helped clean up 200 properties and homes.
Services at St. Francis will resume with the service for the 4th Sunday in Advent, December 24, atServices their new time of 9 am. That night Christmas Eve‘s worship will begin at 6:15 pm. Father Chris' homily will look at the connection between St. Nicholas and Jesus. The annual candlelit singing of “Silent Night” will again be a highlight of the service. And there will be plenty of fabulous Christmas food and drink after the service.
