Parents who want their children to learn about Jesus but find that traditional church services are too early, too long and/or too boring for them can come to the new half-hour long kid-friendly family services starting this weekend. The services will consist of songs, a brief reading from the stories of Jesus in the gospel, a 5 minute message from that story, and basic prayers of praise, thanksgiving, dedication and the Lord's Prayer. The service is for all ages and all denominations. As part of a joint ministry Lord of the Seas Lutheran Church and St. Francis in the Keys Episcopal Church will hold the services on 2 nights. Saturdays at 5:30 pm the Families Following Jesus service will be held at Lord of the Seas. Sundays at 5:30 pm the Families Following Jesus service will be held at St. Francis. At 6 pm after each service snacks and refreshments will be served. The services will be held every weekend starting on February 7th and 8th.
